Mykonos is the most popular and cosmopolitan island in the Aegean. It's beaches and luxurious hotels attract jet setters and party people from all over the world every summer.

Fortunately, we have Konstantinos, who can make sense of the madness and show our travelers the important historical highlights of the island and the surrounding area. Born to a local family of fishermen, his childhood was spent between school books and drawing nets near Delos, the magnificent island / museum off the coast of Mykonos. He'd sell the fresh catch to the restaurants and hotels on the island, becoming from a very young age, an indispensable part of the island's economy. Today he shares his knowledge of the island's authentic culture and steers our traveler's clear of the noisy tourist traps.

In war torn Larisa, a barefoot boy, his father apprenticed as a gunsmith. As he grew, so did his skill and fame and he transformed his little workshop a prominent sporting goods company, with outlets all over Greece.

Kostas grew up in the business, but also pursued his spiritual calling.  He ultimately answered it not through books or institutions, but on long hikes on the Pindos Mountain range.

A natural extrovert, he brought his love of hiking, skiing, and fishing to the family company and branched off to create a leading outdoor activity provider with services that span from the Sporades Islands to rocky peak of Mount Olympus.

In the gentle Valley of the Muses above the Boeotian plains, Hesiod wrote his famed Theogony, the first complete account of all the ancient deities.

3000 years later, in the same valley, a young boy looked on in wonder as archaeologists excavated a vast ancient theater.

Before it had come to light, he watched on as invading Nazi war planes bombed the hills above, covering it again under tones of earth.

Ioannis was set on his path of service to his country, and dedicated to learn about, and educate his fellow citizens about Hesiod, his work, and the mythical valley he calls home.

The colorful village of Galaxidi by the shore near Delphi, once boasted a mighty fleet of merchant ships.

Just to feed the countless sailors, merchants and workers that crowded the port, over 40 bakeries pumped out fresh bread and pastries every morning.

This era long past, Chrisoula grew up in one of the last such bakeries. Seeing her beautiful village decline into irrelevance, she took it upon herself to preserve and spread her traditions.

Her boutique hotel has become a magnet for discerning travelers and fellow foodies.  In her courtyard, she shares her culinary secrets under the shade of the Bougainvillea.

Finishing high school, Argyro spent time searching for a calling  in life.  An inheritance from a long forgotten aunt pointed her to the future. An abandoned, 600 year old, mansion landed into her lap. Mystified by the structure, she set to the task of

restoring it. She cleared the overgrown courtyard, revealing the smooth stone paths.  She peeled away the layers of decayed terracotta to bring to light the artisan masonry. The revelation was when she discovered the dark and chilly wine cellar, lined with dusty barrels and clay amphorae. The plan was hatched, and she set off to study the fine arts of cooking and viticulture. Today she shares sips of wine in that same courtyard with the enchanted guests of her beautiful boutique hotel.

How does one become a leading scientist, with multiple published works on ancient Aegean scripts?

Growing up only a stone's throw from the ruins of Knossos might be a good start. Years spent bent over books in museum basements. Studying dusty clay tablets and carvings on stone shards. Counting lines and imprints on mysterious pan shaped artifacts. His labor has given new and fascinating insights on the astronomical and industrial achievements of the Minoan

civilization. We admire him even more for his dedication for spreading his knowledge to laymen and the youth of Greece.

Falling back on her natural people skills, her studies and her knowledge of the city, she sprung forward to create the most dynamic tour company in Athens.

Her superbly trained and highly motivated guides provide the most insightful and enjoyable private tours of the historical highlights, and much more than that. As true insiders, they will show you sides of everyday life, that most visitors will never see.

Hailing from a remote village on Mount Psiloritis on Crete, far from any bus routes that could connect them with any towns from where to acquire daily necessities, his parents away for hours tending their flocks, Christos had to learn from a very young age how to be responsible, independent.... and how to drive on the narrow, winding, mountain roads.

After serving as a tank driver in the military, he set out to explore the rest of Greece, steering clear of main roads and highways. His journeys have led him from our eastern borders to the Ionian Islands, from the forests of Chios to the barren hills of Mani.

Oh, and he manages a fleet of vehicles for hire throughout Greece.

Dimitris is what we call Romantic Domestic Migrant. He first visited Naxos years ago, fell in love with the island and with the Naxian woman who would become his wife. Leaving his budding career at a prominent chain of hotels in Athens, he moved to the island to begin his new life.  Applying his experience and ambition to the island's fledgling tourism industry, he created a tour company that aimed to showcase the island's authentic culture. The historic highlights, the amazing local food, and the pristine natural wealth.

Most workers in the sector are seasonal, leaving for the big city in September. Dimitris remains on Naxos year round, tending his olive trees, enjoying long walks with his children on the serene beaches and mountain trails.

From an early age he showed his preference to Poseidon over Demeter, and so he left his family farm in Thessaly to chase the setting sun beyond the horizon.

Every spring, like the Aegean pirates of old, he sets sail on the brisk Meltemi winds. Not to loot or plunder, but to lead his guests on adventures of learning and leisure.

Each of the hundreds of islands hold historical highlights to be seen, mythical secrets to be uncovered.

In his competent hands you can explore them under the warm Aegean sun.

Protagoras taught me to put people at the center of all things, not antiquated institutions.

Diogenes showed me how to make things simple, uncluttered.

Archimedes has proven to me that the shortest distance between to points is a straight line.

Socrates reminds me of how little I know.

Like a gadfly he prompts me to continue learning, examining.

I've always preferred bending rules rather than following them.

Not sure which of our ancestors I got that from.

I started out in the tourism industry as a teen.

Summer jobs in hotels, restaurants, leading tours on the islands.

Like Odysseus, I strayed from the path. 20 years of learning, gathering experiences in other careers before finding my way home to what I loved most.

Like Jason, I've gathered a team of modern day heroes to join me on my journey.

All of us obsessed with bringing you the "golden fleece" that is Greece.
